Edward VI was born on October 12, 1557 and was the only son of KIng Henry VIII and his third wife Jane Seymour.

When he was growing up Edward rarely saw his father and was brought up by a nurse named Mother Jack.

It was pressed upon him how important his role as being prince was and was told that his father was the most important man in the world.

The one thing Edward was lacking was the love and nurturing of his mother.

Edward was never close with Anne of Cleves or Katheryn Howard and once his father married Katherine Parr she brought the Tudor family closer together.

When  his father died Edward became king at age nine and ruled the kingdome until he was sixteen.

Before he died he asked that his cousin lady Jane Grey be the next in line for the throne.
