Henry VII was from the Lancaster family, which was one of the two most powerful families in Britain at the time. The other one was the  family of York which Richard III was a family member of.

Henry became king of England once he defeated Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in August 1485 at the end of the battle of the roses.

Henry Tudor married Elizabeth York to keep the peace between the two families and they had four children together.

The children were :

Arthur ( Prince of Wales)

Henry VIII ( the man who would become the father of Bloody Mary by Katherine of Aragon), Elizabeth I daughter by Anne Boleyn , Henry FitzRoy bastard son of Henry and Elizabeth Blounand and the youngest  Edward VI son of Jane Seymour. He is recognized as the man who  beheaded two of his wives Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard.( here's a bit of trivia for you the two girls were cousins)

Margaret I  (who married James IV the king of Scotland). They had a son named James V.

James married twice the first marriage was to Madeline who was the daughter of  Francis I king of france and then later married Mary of Lorraine the daughter of  the Duke of Guise. ( Their union together created the infamous Mary Queen of Scots who was second cousin of Henry VIII's children.

Mary the youngest was married both to Louis XII who was the King of France and then later married Charles Duke Suffolk and  had one child Frances.

Frances married Henry Grey Duke of Suffolk and they had a daughter together Lady Jane Grey who only ruled England for 9 days and was executed for committing treason.
